Electrical testing and inspection is a legal and insurance requirement in assessing the wiring and electrical safety of a property. An electrical condition report will locate any potential problems meaning that they can be dealt with immediately to ensure continued safe working conditions and operation within the premises.
Testing must be carried out:
- On change of ownership or tenancy of premises
- Following change of use of premises
- After alterations or additions to the original installation
- Where there is a change in electrical loading
- Where there is a reason to believe damage may have been caused
It is the legal responsibility of the business owner or nominated responsible person to prevent electrical accidents in the workplace and the periodic testing and inspection of electrical installations is an essential part of ensuring compliance with the Electricity At Work Regulation 1989 (EAWR1989).
At APCO, our fully qualified electrical contractors can carry out all necessary safety tests and inspections including emergency lighting, power and fire alarm checks. We will undertake an inspection of the property to assess and test all fixed installations and circuits to ensure that all electrical equipment is maintained in a safe condition to protect users from electrical shocks and fire hazards.
Our dedicated team carries out these tests on a day-to-day basis and are constantly in demand as more insurance companies require periodic inspection certificates.
